#11 – Balancing Academia and the World of Work – Matthew Stollak

matthew-stollakThe Reach West Radio show welcomes Matthew Stollak, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Business Administration at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. Matt teaches courses that cover all aspects of human resources, which includes his world-famous Business Statistics class. Stretching himself includes balancing both the world of academia and the dynamic workplace that is continually changing, particularly as someone who teaches human resources, but is not, per se, in an HR role. He strives to give his students a competitive advantage to their peers with timely knowledge and information, unlike the outdated information in textbooks today pertinent to HR. His articles have been published widely, and his academic interests include the impact of spirituality on job satisfaction, absenteeism, stress at work, and measuring the effectiveness of employee assistance programs. Matt is active within the Society for Human Resource Management, serving at the local, regional, and national level.
